Once upon a time Americans (well, most Americans) accepted the premise that individual rights reached all the way to the nose of other individuals. That is, our right to pursue happiness was pretty much unlimited unless it got in the way of other people's pursuit of their happiness. Sadly, that's not the dominant belief in America anymore. Some people believe that their rights are greater than the rest of us. Their right to health care is so important that the rest of us must pay for it even if that means we can't afford our own. The same for other basic necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing. And if we complain, we are subjected to bitter vilification. We're racists. Homophobes. Islamaphobes. Etc. They call their "wins" progress. They call themselves Progressives. And if they don't get their way they whine and complain incessantly. They even riot and loot to take what they want. And if you attempt to speak out against them they retreat to their "safe spaces". And if you come anywhere near their safe spaces, you are subject to assault. And if we somehow slip someone into high office who doesn't support their juvenile behavior, they refuse to accept the results and moan and gnash their teeth with unrelenting ferocity. In all the years that I've voted, I have supported (or voted for) the winner maybe one third of the time. Well, I figure, a baseball player who hits safely about a third of the time is doing pretty good. Still, no matter how poor I believe the "people's choice" is, I accept the results and hope for the best, that we'll survive until the next election. In other words, I'm an adult. These "progressives" are children, spoiled children, regardless of their age.
