With Speeches And Bright Dresses, Quinceañeras Protest Texas Sanctuary City Ban

While I appreciate the manner in which this group protested the Texas bill, inserting cultural aspects I can also appreciate, I respectfully disagree with their characterization that "Texas has become ground zero for the fight for the rights of immigrants and Latinos." Nobody's rights are being infringed upon through this bill, it is not designed to be a hate product against immigrants and Latinos, and to suggest that it is demonstrates ignorance of the law and the bill's objectives.

Having grown up in Latin America, I absolutely love the culture offered by the many countries I've lived in. I also love the people, the food, and their ability to connect with anyone. I am also saddened we as a country cannot do more to enable the Latin American states into thriving countries of their own which have no need to immigrate to the US. I have been a part of that effort and unfortunately there comes a point where the people have to find ways to make their own countries better.

Here in the US we have our own problems and responsibility to take care of our own to retain our own thriving nation. The more we ignore the unsustainable influx of illegal immigrants coming into the country, the more we will find ourselves reverting into a country which cannot sustain itself. We are not a nation without generosity, but this goes beyond being generous into the realm of being taken advantage of.

Ironically, by ignoring the fact that cominig her iillegaly is bad for our sovernty, then by aiding and abetting the law-breakers; the left has made this type of law not only necceasssry, but increasingly popular.
