I think I trust the Kurds more than I trust Iraqis, Afghans, Syrians, Turks, Saudis, etc..

And that's despite the fact that they've been left hanging by our government a couple of times in the past.

The Turks desire the "cleanse" the world of the Kurds will be their undoing. Germany just pulled out and moved to Jordan as Turkey wouldn't allow German politicians visit their troops. Their mistrusting attitudes about the west have never waned since the Sykes–Picot Agreement. Not saying this didn't create a malignant influence on the course of Middle Eastern history - more so their policies in dealing with the current lines drawn - they are acting rather insular with not only the west but as well those within the region. Not sure if anyone at this point could really ever be on the Turks side. At this point in time I don't think it is wise for our leadership to trust the Turkish government in looking out for our interests -military or economic - Their definition of NATO is "Not Allowed Turks Only"
