I need the new Liberal playbook. So you like Cooperations when they stand for what you believe in even when they rake in profits but hate Corporations when it comes to presidential election time and hate NRA all the time. But then you like Apple, FaceBook, Google, all the time even though they make tons of cash and are very politically active. It gets confusing.

LTC (Join to see) - Then why the "bathroom law?" Who are the people this "law" protecting? And if you can, tell me why this "bill" disproportionally target trans-gender people? The vast majority of states and territories in the US have laws already on the books that address people that commit violations such as the ones this "law" is attempting to rectify. This is another example of a group of people that don't want people to tell them how to live trying to tell people that sin differently from them what to do
Oh and James Asbill, don't be shy. Use your big boy words and try explain to me why the downvote. Don't just cut and run.

SSG Michael Hartsfield - Some time has lapsed today since we discussed this and I read the bill so I may be off a little here. The bill as a read it is about people using the bathroom according to the sex/gender on their birth certificate. That is what I know and I don't see an issue. I live in Texas and I do not care about legislation in other States nor have I read them as well as you have. I am not getting the sin comment or the violations you are referring too. Throw me a bone and I will try to address. Thanks and I did not down vote you. But, let me know if you are an Auburn fan, because then I will down vote you. Roll Tide!

LTC (Join to see) - EWWW!! GO BUCKEYES!! The violations I'm talking about are things already covering in Texas criminal law that this bill is attempting to address. So many people are trying to justify this bill as a bill that "protect children from perverts" but as it was pointed out, how would one know unless they are peeking over the stall? Also, I found this article that is making the rounds that is showing how ineffective such a bill would be, not to mention financially devastating.

SSG Michael Hartsfield - Ok, thanks for the background again. The bill I read stated that folks will use the bathroom that is aligned with what is on their birth certificate. I don't see an issue. I don't believe in the guy to girl trans story. That is me. The Governor is asking legislation to pass a bill. I don't see the issue. That is the way the system works. It might get voted down. Again, that is how the system works. I do not see any discrimination. I could see it if the state said you folks can use the Johnny on the Spot Latrine outside in the 101 degree temperature. But thats not what the legislation says. It says that you will go to the bathroom of the sex/gender on the birth certificate. I just don't see the issue or why folks are falling all over themselves about this. I still think this is about more than bathrooms. This is about one side shoving their beliefs and culture on another. So there is going to be a clash. At least its been civil.

IMV, multiple-user bathrooms have historically been constructed to accommodate differences in anatomy, not gender identification. The signs, though, are perceived as gender-based (male/female/other) and should be replaced with signs that are anatomy-based. Those that have the anatomy to aim (however badly) without an artificial device use the restroom with a urinal symbol on the door. Those that don't find the door with a squat pot on it. Has nothing to do with gender.
