The public education system is broken. To be honest, it's been broken for a very long time. I graduated from high school in 1960. The only reason I graduated is that my teachers didn't want to have to put up with me for another year. I annoyed them, with questions. Granted, they didn't create the problem (me). My father did that. He taught me to totally disrespect adults and others in positions of authority (that includes teachers). My disrespect was compounded when I discovered that I annoyed teachers because they couldn't answer my questions. I wish I had had a choice...
