She (Anni Cyrus) is a woman that should be embraced by the feminism movement in the west but she is not. She was oppressed, beaten, lashed, raped not by a criminal but by the state from her home country. She escaped and is speaking out but is ignored by the feminists of the west because they have gone all in on radical islamists and their ilk. I cannot explain why except to say that the left in this country picks their friend based upon political expediency.
My best guess is because 9-11 and the ensuing wars in the middle east began under GW Bush, they viewed the wars purely through a political prism and have tried to use them as political tools ever since. They embrace the enemies philosophy because that is what the left does. Rewind back to the Vietnam War and the left's behavior with the N Vietnamese government.
