When you buy property with a Home Owner's Association or in a zoned community, this is what you get. You get some "protections" and you give up some "freedom." I bought a farm 19 years ago and I continually have to deal with "down-staters" who just love the rural life, and move to Northern Michigan; until the have to experience the realities of the rural life. Everything across the road from my farm is "Lake Front" Vacation Homes or Vacation Rentals.
Complaints I had to deal with at Township meetings
-I let livestock breed and birth in the open
-Manure being spread on fields stinks (Who would have thought manure stinks?)
-Roosters crowing, Horsed whinnying, Goats bleating
-Male goats stink
-My truck tracks mud on the road when I leave a muddy pasture
-Horses are mean to each other (kids shouldn't have to see that).
-Live stock butchering visible. (Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day Farm Open house and pig/goat roast potlucks)
-I don't let their kids play in the pastures with my livestock.
-You get Jail time and a fine if your July 4th fireworks burst in or over pasture with livestock.
Fortunately, the complaints get about 2 minutes of uproarious laughter in this township; and then we move on to serious business. I am sure that if I moved into the posh neighborhoods down state and wanted to farm, I'd get laughed at too. Just be sure you know what you buy into.

Unless you live out in the sticks, keep your bugle playing indoors. Taps does not have to be played outside for your neighbors to enjoy.

It wouldn't bother me if my neighbor played taps. Heck I'd invite him to come over and do it at my flagpole.
Having said that, I don't speak for everyone and I live in a very rural area. I can understand how it may be problematic for some people in a densely populated neighborhood for a variety of reasons.
