Pardon me for continuing to be bored but...
1. Even if Russia hacked into the voting systems throughout American state election boards, the popular voting mechanism does not control who gets elected. The electoral college does. As there is no law requiring electoral voters to do anything other than what they want to do, a successful rigging of the popular vote would not help. And as it turned out - duh - Hilary won the popular vote. If Russia hacked the USA en route to getting Trump in office, wouldn't Hilary have lost? And then again, by a huge landslide?
2. The criminal revelation is never exposed by the winner. Always by the loser. The same republican voices claiming democrat fraud voting in 2008 and 2012 are suddenly silent. Likewise, Russian hacking - even amidst security agency revelation - is met with republican disdain. As the rank and file citizen has degenerated into a sport fan, spurring on his or her team regardless the atrocity/crime, why continue to put the story out?
3. No matter how good or bad the president is, he only gets 1/3rd of the credit/blame as we are not a democracy. So even if the vote was hacked to ensure Trump won the significant amount, there is no guarantee that the other 2/3rds of the equation would pan out.
But like the kardashians - this continues to be a major news story.

Ding ding ding! "The electoral college does..." Technically, if Russia hacked the election, the election was rigged in HRC's favor. Had they, government, released the info sooner, it would have hurt her and her party for allowing such a breach. The last minute revelations only gave them time to fabricate the lies they are spewing now regarding the trump administration. The sore loser is strong within the ranks of the d leadership.

Cpl (Join to see) - It still doesn't answer the other issues. If I hacked the British election to get Theresa May elected, I'd have a political system at the end of the day that can do everything I desire. Because of our power sharing republic with its checks and balances, you'd need to hack everything. You'd need to hack the mid terms, etc. There would be no guarantee that you'd get what you want. So any hacking of America's system is a waste of hacking resources. Even if Hilary would have outvoted Trump by 50% that was no guarantee the electoral voters would have put her in the oval office. And then if you get her in you still have to give her congress/senate which you can't do in November.

Exactly, which is why you have to wonder why they are using this issue as a whipping board to undermine the current administration when it was the previous administration that did nothing to counter the breaches.

Well Hillary didn't need anyone to help her damage her reputation. She did a good enough job on her own.

I saw Jeh Johnson on Morning Joe and he was discussing why they did not do more. They reported it to the public in early October, but nothing was really done as it might look like Obama was skewing the election in Clinton's favor. Obama did implement strategies such as sanctions and there are effective attacks geared to attack the cyber arena in Russia.
For whatever reason our POTUS will not address this issue. He attacks everyone except the Russians. and refuses to condemn Putin for any reason, which is very troubling.

SGT Reynolds, you have an issue with Mr. Trump not addressing an issue. What if the issue was fabricated to serve as a diversion? You are taking the Russian hacking line as fact. Could another county have hacked out system as well? The Chinese had more to worry about with a Trump presidency. Mr. Trump was always talking about China and the trade imbalance. Russia was a non story. Russia invades Ukraine and we did what exactly? We have a standing defense pac with Ukraine and we did what again? Nothing. There is more to this story and we are being fed a bunch of horse squeeze right now.

MAJ James Woods
There will be no amount of reporting by members of the intelligence community that will convince folks that a foreign intelligence operation via cyber operations, social media injects, and disinformation in news is a threat to our democratic election system. They'll care when foreign operatives are targeting them and people they support.

MAJ James Woods - Some will continue to believe every conspiracy theory except their own conspiracy theory. A friend of mine has written extensively on Roman conspiracy theories in both history and literature. She has stated that true conspiracies are not found out until they are done, and secret conspiracies, although possibly true, rely on rumor, and their is no way to prove the conspiracy. If one says there is a conspiracy and someone counters with facts, the believer In the conspiracy will state that that is a part of the conspiracy. That is what makes conspiracy theories so hard to disprove.

"Don't make things worse" is something that was constantly on his mind as I assume one of the things he was concerned with is the GOP taking any accusations by the WH of Russian interference in the election turned into anti-Obama, anti-Clinton conspiracy that WH was trying to influence the election process. Sad thought but with guys like McConnell, Limbaugh, Jones, O'Reilly, Bannon, etc., the concern was real.
Regardless of the election outcome, it's disturbing we had leaders in federal and state government that didn't take the intelligence reporting as justifiable and serious threat.
