It would be well and good if they were actually interested in space operations. And I mean more than just a science station and launching satellites. We need to get our feet out beyond our little sphere and its tinier friend. But first thing's first... we need to start addressing all the damned debris floating around in LEO, because very soon, we aren't going to be able to launch a damned thing up there without it getting torn up. They want to prove they're serious about space operations, start budgeting and developing something to clear the garbage out from LEO.

That would require the luddite swho run the nation to care, then explain it to the public. NASA would do it far more efficiently,.

Mi proposal would be a fixed bounty for items removed from orbit just high that a efficient company or companies could get filthy rich.
