I published this short story, a true story, less than a year ago. It's about skeletons in the closet and lost family. And, yes, there's a military twist to it. I recommend you read it before you read the rest of the story below...
A few days ago I received the following message...
"I read with great interest your true short story titled "Family Skeletons". It seems that Tec4 Joseph Hrabovecky, who was killed in France during WWII, was my mother's oldest brother . . . thus my uncle. After sorting out how everyone might be related in your story, it rekindled some memories for me."
Many people are loath to share personal information on the Internet, and rightly so. But, there are rewards for those of us who take the chance. Over the course of a couple decades since the Internet became popular, I have reconnected with several friends, long lost friends with whom I haven't had contact in forty or fifty years. Now, I'm in contact with a family I never knew. How about that?
