SSG Pete Fleming – Good call! Very shortsighted that parenting isn't perceived universally as an occupation, IMHO.

Great info. However they forget a lot of jobs that some of these can't even come close to. I agree with the military, fire fighters, police officers, airline pilots. But a biggie and an area that shows a lot of stress. Truck diving. It is not just sitting there hanging on to a wheel. Dealing with traffic, customers, dispatchers and time schedule. All of these contribute to one of the top heart attack professions in the world. Add in being away from home and it is similar to my top 4.

I must say I wasn't expecting the results that they listed especially with the society we have today where there are rumors of stress cards in BMT (be they truth or fake that is not the issue at hand). I am glad they did recognize many of the ones that I believe are stressful. I am surprised that they left off Air Traffic Control. I hear that it is one of the highest stressful jobs ever.
But then when you think about it, stress is really relative. It all depends on what you are used to and trained for. There are some that do not think the military is stressful because they are used to what they do and can do it in their sleep. And then there are others that fall apart at the slightest bit of struggle. I have personally been on both ends of this spectrum. It is all about training and how we internalize everything around us.
Great post though I found it very interesting!

SrA Melissa Chiles – Thanks for responding, and please be sure to connect. With our common CP backgrounds and my interest in agro-terrorism, you may find further interest in my postings.
