Ivan, agree you must be fit however, you have got to have your mind right before you make the decision. As you well know there are many things designed to make you feel good about life only to rip the rug out from under you. So if your mind has a weak point they will find it, then they will say it does not make you a bad person you just can't be a Green Beret. Haahahhahaah

Ivan, the funny part, funny now, is that it is not just physical it is very much mental. Some of the stories are funny now, not so much back then hahahaha

A lot of tough training, but to be the best at what you do, it's needed. I'd be ok in the land nav. now.

Are water sports a function of SF training? I think most can handle the runs and humping heavy shit long distances, but water is a different animal. I suppose most can swim well enough so you won’t drown, but serious swimming is something I’d have no shot at. Anglico required no water training, but our buddies in Force Recon spent lots of time in the water. Those guys are and we’re serious dudes, just a whole different level of Marine.

There’s not a chance in hell I could ever survive Force Recon training, those guys are/ were as it is just different kinda dudes. Really that simple, it’s mind and body, both extreme.
