Well this is a topic worth discussion. WP isn't outlawed by Geneva Convention but even us tankers have been briefed not to exercise the smoke systems on the M1 in close proximity of dismounts and civilians because of the physical threat it imposes. I do agree with the intended purpose, to create separation between displacing civilians and enemy forces; as long as we ensure through mitigation not to use it directly on people then no problem.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr You're Right. I think the General just wanted everyone to know that Yes we were using it and using it in the Correct Manner considering what has been done with it before. Heading off the any Questions before they happen.

A friend of mine who was a contractor in Afghanistan found out that the Taliban sometimes using white phosphorus in 107 Rockets and one of them across the street from his Safe House nearby in Farah Province Afghanistan and one was a dud and it was white phosphorus but the United Nations didn't report it back in May, 2009. I wonder why?

LTC (Join to see) That is a Problem. First off they would have to Confirm It. Were they Notified? Were they Able to Verify. Even if You could do that. Who You going to Cite, The Taliban is not a Government, They are in the Gray Area between Religious Movement, Government, Political Organization.
