MCPO Roger Collins - I am surprised you would even bring up Reality Winner - a 25 year old crypto linguist specialist - who wrote she wanted to burn the White House down - who has no tradecraft or other training to prepare her to cover her own tracks and was tracked down within hours of the publication of her leaked material. Titus Nichols - really??? A court appointed defense counsel with no expertise in the defense of espionage?? Anyway, my interests in the White House appointment have absolutely nothing to do with Winner, Nichols, or espionage. It has to do with serving as the White House expert on national security and diplomatic interests, personnel, policies, procedures, and budget - particularly budget - where the administration's proposed cuts in intelligence and diplomatic security would inevitably lead to further exposure of agency personnel - and further Benghazi like attacks - that would be laid at the steps of the White House. My interest is in better protecting the Office of the President in all domains - and ensuring the President is better prepared either in advance or has immediate backup in person at diplomatic events who can fill in the intelligence and foreign policy gaps. My completely unblemished four decades of impeccable service and credentials, established relations and support from numerous senior congressmen, and history of responding to close questioning with the repeated mantra "I have no distinct recollection of that matter . . . Senator" means I can be relied on to protect privileged communications with no leaks. I have no interest in what you call the "deep state" - rather my interest is in ensuring the Office of the President is appropriately informed - and protected from all enemies - both foreign - and domestic. My understanding is Chief of Staff Priebus handles this appointment - and questions to date run along the lines of ensuring that I am not overly conflicted by my involvement in terms of prior work and prior,contributions for the party.
