"In 2013, the US announced the end of its Global War on Terror (GWoT) "... So the 'War on Terrorism' is over? What about all the troops over there? Do they still rate as combat and get the War on Terrorism ribbon and status?

I thought it was interesting more so because it is a perspective that was played out to the world by the last Administration..... before IS appeared and ruined that party.
