How and why were they allowed to enter in 2013 as a transgender?

SCPO (Join to see) I don't know, way above my paygrade. I just know that now in 2017 to not commission the person after spending over half a million dollars educating them would be a huge waste.

If this person was accepted by the academy with the knowledge that he/she was an acknowledged TG, the commissioning should be done. The investment has been made.

MCPO Roger Collins to me that is really what it boils down to. It would be a huge waste of taxpayer dollars. "Financial Statistics
FY14 impact to the surrounding community: $954.9 million
Total Cost per USAFA Graduate: $534, 206
Cost of education is $50, 335 per year
Each cadet receives approximately $1027 monthly pay that covers the cost of uniforms, books and supplies, with a modest amount left for personal spending."

When the new guidelines are established, they should be used, beginning with any new candidates. All in process candidates "grandfathered".
