In seriousness, I think it is a good thing that we invited China. It shows that we would prefer not to have them against us, while at the same time showing them that we have the force necessary to fight them if need be.

I think they started attending in 2014 with just a hospital ship. Last year there were a few destroyers in attendance. It will be interesting to see what they bring next year.
