LTC (Join to see) We are at war with everyone else whether by military or trade, why not Canada too. Next thing you know, no hockey teams will be allowed to travel between the U.S. and Canada, then the shooting war starts.

This war was also the last war with piston-engine fighter planes. Honduras had F4U Corsairs (some sold later to Hollywood for use in the Black Sheep Squadron tv series) and El Salvador had P-51 Mustangs. My Mom's town of San Marcos de Ocotepeque was occupied and looted by the Salvadorian Army.

It sounds like Boeing has a legitimate gripe if Canada is subsidizing Bombardier aircraft, but I don't see why it would prevent them from entering the US market. Canada is already spending itself into oblivion, but if it wants to effectively pay American airlines to use its aircraft, I don't see a problem with American companies taking advantage of it.

Embraer from Brazil also complained but the BrazilIan government probably subsidizes this airplane manufacturer as well.

PO2 Brian Rhodes - sad reality in foreign business that many countries and industries expect this. Some factor it in the contract. Tough to buy American with all this payola.
