Sounds familiar. We are destroying Historic statues and paraphernalia in the sake of countering racism. We are removing History in the hopes of removing racism that is not there. Then where are we. We need to learn from History so we do not repeat it. Hiding it and destroying it and rewriting it do not accomplish this.

SFC Dave Beran Often been said "Those who do not learn from the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them." This removing that which we don't want to remember is worse. It is trying to remove the past to placate those who are offended by it.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - I understand this. And agree. If I do not want something in my life, I simply do not bring it in. If we keep going we will not even teach History.

The easiest way to change history is to not teach it. Removing reminders of the past is part of that. To can't learn from what you don't know. So you have Democrats pushing to remove memorials of Democrat leaders of slavery. Is that so they can bring back slavery? Gotta wonder.

When I was living in Germany, when the immigrants from the east came across in mas, I heard many of those in West Germany say that it wasn't so bad under Hitler. I think this is the frustration from the crime and drug dealing etc that exploded with the population explosion.
How does any country regain the rule of law and protect it's citizens?

There is a wave of populist Xenophobia sweeping western nations. It hit Britain with Brexit, we have Golden Dawn in Greece, the election of Trump in the US, the National Front in France. Country after country.
When we start looking at the tactics of terror groups and the war of terror the question of who's winning becomes very murky. They are substantially having an impact that is altering our way of life.

SPC Kevin Ford Terrorism is defined as "the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims." I would say that based just on the dictionary definition they are winning. Every time we are willing to sacrifice freedoms in the name of safety, they win. When we forget that America is the land of opportunity for all regardless of race, religion, and creed, they win. So overall, we may be killing their fighters and winning battled, but they are winning in the big picture. That is sad to me.
