Hey, if you have something that is working...... FIX IT. No matter what ranking system they use, it will be used to rank one sailor against another for promotion. That in itself causes mediocre sailors to get higher marks because someone wants them advanced. Those that use the ranking iaw regulations get rated lower.

PO1 Richard Cormier Yep, if you look at the performance marks descriptions for 3.0 traits, which is in the middle (1.0-5.0), and literally apply them, you end up with a Sailor who is doing their job very well and would be an accurate refection of the top 1/3 of a peer group. We don't do this though we apply these objective traits subjectively.

Looking forward to this! I'm hoping we start ranking Sailors against the Navy's expectations of them and not against each other.
