Have you read the Bill verbiage?
If not I respectfully suggest you withhold comment until you have
The language leaves lots of gray area with bullying becomes in the eye of the bow holder and the prosecutor
I can pick two dozen threads on this site where a Texas prosecutor could let me charge it against others here
I'd much prefer to see parents parent and leave the state out of parenting

Sgt Kelli Mays Great move in the right direction. Should this be a Federal Law? Your thoughts?

I am a parent of a child where a small number of students from the "right" families were allowed to make his life a living hell. Luckily New Jersey created one of the most comprehensive anti-billing laws in the nation. The school district had to pay $56K per year for private school. When it came time to PCS, he stayed behind with his Mother as we could not get any assurances in our new state.

I think most of us will agree "bullying" is a way to show dominance over another. The sad reality of this concept is that the schools allow for such behavior. Instead of disciplining the bully and protecting the bullied the schools in essences punish the bullied and ignore the bully. Whatever happened to the time when a bully was treated as such and handled in a manner that was familiar to him/her. In today's society things are so far skewed that to confront a bully as a parent wanting to protect their child the parent is reprimanded.
I think we need to start holding the school districts, teachers and administration accountable. As parents we want the best for your children. We mentor them, teach them life's lessons and hopefully teach them to be good pillars of society. However, as parents we entrust the safety and educational instruction to the school systems. The same systems who gain revenue because of our children. So it stands to reason if schools are allowing bullying to happen within the confines of their institution they should be fined. They should be fined in such a way that sends a clear message, that this allowance of bad behavior is not and will not be tolerated. School systems abide by their own set of rules and laws, communities have the power to take back control over the school systems. By taking the one asset school systems only understand...........money, maybe then they'll (school districts) understand that parents are entrusting them with the safety of that family's most precious asset........their child.
