I wish we could get an accurate count or % of USA that actually supports confiscating and disarming Americans. I'd guess it to be a small % but it would be helpful to know. Disarming the public is to me a bizarre and scary concept. I'm sure there are many action groups and subscribers to the same that somehow believe it to be a sound idea, but I fail to see any rational benefit. What the framers thought at this point is good to know but has little to do with why Americans should have the ability to own weapons. Then vs. now is apples to oranges IMO because society and national defense have changed in a major way. As economic conditions erode we unfortunately need to be armed for protection from bad actors within our borders. Home invaders, lone-wolf terrorists and other criminal elements will be armed despite any laws so it makes no sense to disarm the general public. When faced with a real-time life or death situation in the public or home, dialing 911 is not the answer if one expects to survive. Thanks for sharing.

I find no faults in your argument. Except those same conditions existed when the Founders wrote the 2nd Amendment .

SPC Les Darbison - Very true. They had no 911 to call either. They likely had more threats such as in the Wild West. Hard times for sure. Thanks for your reply.

What, specifically, in Illinois SB1657 is offensive?
I see no mention anywhere in this bill about confiscation nor any specific restrictions related to individual gun ownership or the right to bear arms.
Does the right to bear arms include the individual's right to sell, without restriction or state licensing, arms?

As I read it, it would create an extremely hostile environment for Illinois ffl holders. Including additional licensing fees and a licensing committee that could prevent new licenses and close businesses up for renewal.

They keep bringing up confiscation, registration, we're going to do this and that........Confiscation is a fools errand. Hunters are just that, we are not seen and not heard.....They can talk all they want but bottom line is Literally every hunter is at least a decent sniper if you think about it and some....Well, I'm sorry....your not going to make it! As you said Greg....IMHO
