If someone breaks into my house to rob and possibly do me and my family harm, then it is of my opinion that the criminal gave up their right to a fair trial by jury.

But you should only be able to defend yourself with a weapon similar to what the burglar has in order to prevent an unfair firefight. If he has a knife you should lay down your AR-15, because that is just human nature.
