Why does this article try and indicate this is some liberal thing rather than conservative? It's a state law, and repubs have controlled the state house, senate and gov since 2011. Hell, they've controlled the state senate since 1984. They probably passed the original law, and certainly had years to repeal it if they didn't like it.
