I found opportunities in software development before I found opportunities in finance. I don't know if I have ever seen a clear path for veterans to enter investment banking in particular.
Most brokerage or insurance positions are commission salespersons and I always viewed as ethically challenged.

Thanks LTC John! I would think there would be some definitely translatable skills but I can see the ethics piece that I didn't think of before. I appreciate your feedback!

I definitely agree that a full time MBA is much better than part time in what you learn and how it is perceived. The big banks have programs that are specifically to hire veterans for internships and then full time jobs. The connections possible via the MBA Veterans Career Fair, Veterans Internship Program, and a few others like that are easier than the path most have to trod--though, again, that is to parts of the bank that aren't the Investment Banking Division because I simply don't know many people in IBD.
