The sub title of the story really shows where the issue is...It reads "The challenge for anti-racists looking for solutions in Trump’s America". This really tells you all you need to know. Nothing changed the day Trump won the election or the day he was sworn in.

That is nothing except the cacophony of simple mindedness from the left that there is something now wrong in America and Trump's election is the only evidence you need. There must something that needs to be "fixed" with those other people that are not like me. They are defective wrong, racist etc.

The writer should encourage his brethren to follow their own path of empathy and try to put themselves in the shoes of people that have been toting the mail for decades. Working hard, paying taxes, raising their families etc. They might learn a few things too.

SGT (Join to see) - Did I suggest somewhere in my post that everyone voted for Trump? I don't think I said anything even close to that.

Cpl Jeff N. - I'll remember that the next time I say "the racial and prejudicial rhetoric coming from the right" and folks jump on me accusing me of calling all Conservatives racists. Cause in no way that ever happens. I'm accusing you of missing the point of article. You can't start and sustain an open conversation if you launch into insults whether it's calling the person simple minded or the things they are saying is simple minded. It's a simple premise.

Racists are immune to being called racist. It's a waste of time telling them what they already know and believe in. Throwing the "racist" label indiscriminately only hurts the cause because it offends those who care, who are not racist. Thus, your blanket condemnation of "Trump supporters" is ill-advised.

SSG Jessica Bautista - Was that response to Greg Wright supposed to be a joke. I certainly hope so. Otherwise, its sounded very childish.

In the famous words of the 80s "Well Duhhh"

I'm going to be very non PC on this one because quite frankly I'm tired of the racial division. As a WHITE person (I know gasp) I don't care what someone's skin color is, or who they want to love or have sex with. In my teens I was fired because of Affirmative action we had to many White people working at a crap theater in Tacoma WA. In my 20's I was dating an African American women she broke up with me because her family did not approve, we had been together for about 5 months. I began to understand racism wasn't just a-hole KKK members and the skin heads. Racism was from all sides and caused by small minded people.

It now being 2017 let me tell you what I have seen in these 42 years. Fake racism has become the norm, and short of fake racism we do not see racism happening. People spray painting swastika on their own property, making bomb threats in the name of racism, fake stories of being beaten or robbed by racists, accusations of racial slurs being made that video prove never happened. Accusing everyone of being a racist so they stop talking has become the go to norm.

Want to fix the racism issue (i'm going to be blunt here) fix your own problems. The BLM needs to sign up for the Police Force and patrol their streets, Clean up the neighborhoods rat out and drive out the drugs and crime, Stop voting Democrat, in all the cities with the worst issues they have been controlled by the democrats for 60, 80 years (depending on city). Seriously can you not see a correlation between Union controlled / Democrat controlled and poverty / oppression. How about the Education system? We have School districts paid per student in the seats but the schools never receive the funding. That money goes to administration costs and Union fees. Improve the schools and properly educate minority's so they look beyond the ghettos and slums, or better yet look to improve them. Stop blaming every little grievance on some "white conspiracy" Trust me we are not that coordinated. Stop screaming racism when you don't get what you want. It is not racist to Elect Trump and he has done nothing against any race, creed, religion, or the LGBT community.

I was not an Obama supporter I did not like his policies, but I held such hope for his administration. The First Black President, we could finally put the insanity of racism behind us... What did we get? 8 years of Blaming Bush and anti cop rhetoric, we had a President who spent more time inciting the racial discord that had almost died in this Nation, instead of standing as a beacon of what you can achieve in America. Dr. Ben Carson grew up in the ghetto, he is a world renowned Nero Surgeon, why all the hate at him? Where are the Minority's role models?

Yes racism exists and the racism the left speak of does exist in very small pockets in this world, but it is not from the majority of conservatives, look in your own hearts and sift the rhetoric and propaganda clear.

Just my two cents.

There's a correlation between race, poverty, wages, etc. The cause for those consistent correlations is easily tied to race. Yes, there are outliers, but those are the exception rather than the rule. I'm glad that you see everyone as equal, truly. However, going through life colorblind to race doesn't do anything to racism. The only way to do that is challenging it straight on, if this study is to be believed: http://www.vox.com/2016/4/7/11380974/reduce-prejudice-science-transgender

Obviously, if you don't have a problem, then you don't have one, but you cannot tell other people that what they are experiencing isn't real.

Freaking awesome. Loved your two cents and I agree with you. However, it will take a joint effort from both parties and as soon as they can work themselves out then maybe it can trickle down to the rest of us. I do agree with you in that we need to police up our own neighborhoods, but we have seen in the some neighborhoods where your own kind get on a power trip and actually treat their own worse. There are no simple answers to combatting racism until we can agree that it exists within our own kind first.
