With every war the medical arts and practices have improved helping more and more casualties survive their wounds. The wounded are healed. The lame are provided appliances and therapy to overcome their disabilities. But the psychological scars remain. More than 20 veterans commit suicide every day. Here is another potential source of help for these victims of the terrors of the wars they fight on our behalf.

At the same time 1975 - they were still identifying POWs - missing in action - psychological scars.

Rather disturbing in my mind and heart so few speak of those days. Funeral after funeral. The extent of these memorials for me - One young man came home to his parents farm South Dakota - he drank to oblivion- he never drank before Vietnam. His family were religious farmers. One night he took his father's truck and totaled it - wrapped around a tree age 23.

His father wept so deeply - the mother simply could not come to terms with his death THEY heard the crash they got up walked down the road - he was hanging out the front widow eyes open. Psychological scars? The fire trucks arrived and removed him. This is a true story. Son number 2 arrived he had been married 18 months had a baby boy the same day his brother died. Celebrate - it seemed nearly impossible.
