I tend to think PM Margret Thatcher had it right when she said, it was fine "until you ran out of other people's money".

SFC Whitfield - Blocking me is not going to keep me from responding to your BS.
Christian View of Socialism - Look around yourselves and learn about Christian or Religious Socialism. Their has only been two (2) religious socialism sects that anyone can truly call 'successful.' Some would wonder why I put the word successful in single quotes - the one sect has only two (2) members left. Why is there only two members left - the sect is celibate.
That leaves only one religious/ethnic based group left as having been and continues to be somewhat successful. The major problem with most of today's instant gratification and service oriented society is that it actually takes hard work and it is done in small communities.
If you do not recognize the two groups by now, they are the Shakers (The United Society of Believers in Christ's Second Appearing)(and from all appearances will shortly leave only their legacy behind); and the Hebrew/Jewish style Kibbutzim (though they have had their own share of problems) they have suffered declines and upsurges, they have been successful.
With this in mind, you can not compare Communistic and Marxist styles of socialism to successful religious socialism. If there is a problem with food availability, food production, food distribution, and jobs, then the style of socialism as depicted by Venezuela, the Soviet Union, and other failed socialistic nation states will ALWAYS be a failure.
