Growing TSA intrusions spark uncommon partnership

I suppose that if planes were being destroyed by terrorist in flight or hijacked regularly, the TSA could be expected to impose more rigorous inspections of passengers. As it is, there is no epidemic of terrorist attacks on our transportation systems despite the fact that TSA agents regularly fail tests of their diligence. So, what the hell is going on here?
