In this article Charles Krauthammer reviews what is likely to happen with Obamacare this year and surmises that sometime next year President Trump might do a 180 and advocate for a form of single payer health insurance. I add that we can't forget that until relatively recently (2012) President Trump was a registered Democrat and before that he was a registered Independent. So, who knows what his personal philosophy on health insurance really is.

How about that. Well the ACA is still repairable; it would just take some effort from a Congress willing to try and make it work. Otherwise, someone is whispering in Trump's ear that Single-Payer will make you the greatest president ever.

There's a simple replacement to ACA... FUND the Public Hospital systems we already have!
In Fort Worth it's John Peter Smith, in Dallas it's Parkland, Nationally we have the VA... really that's what the countries that have single payer have done... economy of scale, negotiating power for supplies... the same reason Wal-Mart is consistently cheaper than everywhere else.
Right now over 50% of the Health care dollars spent on Healthcare in America are being spent by the federal government. When you start throwing around that kind of money you stop paying retail prices, and you stop going through middle men for your supply chain... unless you're the federal government and lobbyists are paying millions to ensure their companies keep making billions.
