Like Patton, as much as I am against paying for the same real estate twice, I think ejecting ISIS from Iraq is a good reason. Afterall, our withdrawal from Iraq and the Obama administration's covert creation and support of the Arab Spring (which gave rise to ISIS) kind of obligates us to clean up that mess. One must realize that the new Iraqi government is in its infancy. We, the U.S. gained our independence and ratified our Constitution in 1789. In 1812, the British came back and burned the White House to the ground, after ransacking it. We didn't get to where we are overnight. I think we owe Iraq some assistance in getting and staying on its feet. With that said, I think we should take the gloves off when it comes to ISIS, and do what we are good at (killing people and breaking things) to them. No more kid gloves. Then once ISIS is destroyed, bring everyone home.

I concur... we started it, we need to wrap it up.

I agree, except for the bringing everyone home part, because once that happens we'll be right back there again, doing the same thing, because someone will step in to fill the ISIS void. No, Iraq is our best opportunity for a continued presence in Southwest Asia to ensure that the balance of power remains intact and that the GoI does as well. We need to treat Iraq like we have Germany, Japan and Korea and maintain a strong military presence. We thought Europe was secure and began a drawdown and we're in the midst of increasing those forces as well.
