Discretionary Spending Breakdown

In light of all of the conventional attacks on our military, and with how far behind we are in all areas of defense, it makes perfect sense to increase our military budget at the expense of some of the less important government services - like the EPA, Department of Education and NASA. I mean, the Defense budget isn't even HALF of the total discretionary spending and is barely more than the next seven countries in the world spend - combined! How can we expect to compete in conventional warfare without another $50 billion dollars in defense spending? Next thing you know, we'll have to lessen the increase to defense spending to make infrastructure improvements! Sure, that bridge may be on the edge of "safe," but, even if it fails, there are four other bridges that cross that river - does that ONE bridge really matter?

Conclusion: Spend MOAR on defense because until we're the most power military in the world - by far - we should dump more money into it!
