I recently (today) posted a science video about Saturn's Moon "Titan" being a possible human settlement planet... but not so fast as it temperature is about minus 270 degrees Fahrenheit...
Well, I embarked on a short search for other possibilities and came up with this video... Okay, okay, so they are a little farther away... well all right they are very far away, buttttttttttttt.............. This is where it gets interesting... It is not theory it is for real... It is just a matter of one key element and that is traveling at speeds greater than the speed of light... and it is possible... You'll have to watch this video to find out about these 24 planets and their "Suns", and how to get there, but it will provide you with a wealth of information... I won't see traveling to one of these planets in my lifetime, but perhaps in the next... Okay, just kidding... Give it a shot...What do you have to lose but a little time!

Great video. Although I do not believe we will prove out "warp" drive before we need to leave Earth, it may not be required for us to (eventually) land on and populate a distant planet. Our first trip must be sub-light speed and so we'll need a "generational" spacecraft. This would have to be very massive to provide protection from radiation, and large enough to allow say 50 families (a diversity of genetic material) to live and die through several generations (hundreds to thousands of years) to get to the destination planet.

A form of hibernation/suspended animation would be better than a generational ship IMHO. No genetic drift. No loss of knowledge over the years. No cultural drifts/downward spirals. Just the occasional wake-up of some personnel to monitor progress and fix worn stuff.
