Good for them. Every citizen of their country should embrace nationalism regardless of the motivation. One should be proud of who they are; no hard feelings here. I live and work in the borderland here in Southern NM and West Texas and at times this area feels more like an extension of Mexico as opposed to being part of the U.S.

I've worked in Mexico on a project about 3 years ago. The problem I have in this country with reporting in Mexico is the reporters fear Mexicans and generally tend to stay in safe areas of Mexico City to conduct their interviews. Americans are usually spoon fed a Mexican Liberal perspective on the United States with little regard for balance. Truth of the matter is, a large chunk of Mexicans view Mexico City as Texans view Austin or Wisconsinites view Madison. I have nothing wrong with getting an opinion from Mexico City but please in all fairness lets get American reporters to venture out of Mexico City and balance that opinion against Mexicans that are not overly dependent on the Federal Mexican Dole. After all it is called Estados Unidos de Mexico which translates into the United States of Mexico. Sad but true commentary on American reporting on Mexico.
I can tell you from my time in Mexico that the PRI Party's support is very shaky at best and it is the resaon the Mexican President and Ambassador to the United States had real fear in their eyes when it came to President Trumps bellicose statements. They are caught between a rock and a hard place and the last thing they want is a belligerent United States, especially with a restive Southern Population that wants to see them both dead.

LTC Marc King - No problem. When I was there Sonora, Baja and a few other Northern states were rabidly Pro-American and wanted the PRI Party out of power. Their views of Mexico City was that it was out of touch with reality. Samilar in the South but less pro-American, the Mexican government have really treated Southern Mexicans like crap and has had to put down more than one internal rebellion because of it. The PRI is holding onto power and keeping the peace by a very thin string.
