Absolutely no sympathy for these pathetic people. Whatever their reason at the time or how much they have 'seen the light' since then, they deserve no forgiveness whatsoever for their horrible deeds. While many wish they could have been executed outright, many see the long term value of life-time incarceration as even worse than a quick, painless, and speedy end.

It always pissed me off that Walter Payton (Sweetness) died of liver failure, while Charles Manson was walking around in prison with a perfectly good liver.
