The Dec. 28 call followed text message exchanges initiated by Flynn on Christmas Day, in which he wished the ambassador a merry Christmas and said he looked forward to "touching base with you and working with you," Trump spokesman Sean Spicer told reporters.

Well, I thought that a major function of an ambassador was communication with the country for which he/she was an ambassador.

I wish they would report on all of the nations that called to set up meetings. The only "phone calls" we know about are from Taiwan and Russia. Why just those two? If we heard that diplomats from the Ireland, South Africa, Brazil, Singapore, or Fiji called the transition team, would we care?
