Not so much a win for Putin as a loss for the U.S. and our inane stupidity and political backstabbing.

I don't think it will effect Trump one bit in his work with Russia.

We are entering some interesting times, and there is good reason "May you live in interesting times" is a traditional Chinese curse.

Putin won? What? A trophy? A cash prize? Bragging rights? Does anyone think that Trump will be hamstrung in his conduct of FP because someone calls him nasty names or threatens to expose something about him? Anyone who's been watching Trump during his campaign should know by now that when anyone attacks him personally, he doubles down on whatever peccadillo they're accusing him of just to demonstrate how little he cares, then proceeds to attack the idiot who tried it.

Look at all this from the perspective of a country like Estonia, first you have Trump questioning NATO, then you have speculation that Putin got Trump elected. Not hard to understand how unnerving that could be to some of our NATO allies.

A fractured and distrustful NATO, a disintegrating EU, a deeply divided America that is actively questioning its own democratic institutions and a rising tide of xenophobic/isolationist sentiments that practically cede Eastern Europe back to Russia while pushing others into their arms.

Yeah, militarily, he's won nothing but he's playing a weak hand very well. How that pans out in the lon-term, we'll see, but he has the few nations able to oppose Russia back on their heels.

I suspect Putin will care very, very little about Trump's twitter rants, even if they're pointed at him.
