SGT (Join to see) - The point of conflict of interest customs, policies, and rules is to ensure that a person in high government office cannot profit directly or through family members from his government decisions and influence over decisions by others that are supposed to be for the sole benefit of our country. The concern is that someone who holds a public office may make decisions to benefit either their own or their family's business position and/or profits - instead of making decisions solely in the best interests of our country. I am disappointed that Mr. Trump has decided to ignore the basic principles of conflict of interest by transferring his businesses to his children - who are ordinarily considered too close to divorce the holder of high political office from making any government decisions to benefit his own and his family member's personal business interests. This is insufficient to avoid Trump conflict of interests. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)
WWGWD? (What Would George Washington Do?) He didn't sell his plantation and his brewery, his slaves or his other chattels, did he? Why should Trump sell his? Or put them in the hands of others without retaining some kind of control to insure they don't destroy his personal wealth? Why would anyone seek public office if we required that? Silly. Just keep an eye out for shenanigans. Make sure he doesn't peddle his influence to increase his wealth the way Hillary did. That's enough for me.

MSgt (Join to see) - You should have learned as a child that one wrong does not make another wrong right. Also, there is a substantial difference between a nonprofit foundation and a massive network of invisible for profit companies tied to an individual government official. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)
As to the rest of your assertions, once we enlightened citizen folk allowed our politicians to partake of that lovely sport called "lobbying," then all bets are off. Theres few from both parties that lead chaste/pure lives.
