SFC Shirley Whitfield - Agree! Remembering learning this as a JR officer when a politician came to base & no one volunteered to stand on the flt line.

Respect is not either, there have been many in my chain of command I did not like nor respect, they left me alone I left them alone, they pissed in my wheaties I did my best to piss in theirs, were they successful in attempts to ruin my career, not in the least, was I in ruining theirs, you bet your sweet ass I was, put a Post Commander, Company Commander, 1Sg , SFC, MSG, SFC and a SGT in their place which was back on the block with a small stop to Leavenworth in between . The Post Commander was relieved of his duties/ Command and washed out of the military, The Company Commander was relieved of his duties and washed out withing days. The 1SG and the rest were convicted of their crimes and sentenced with bad conduct discharges... if you as a leader expect respect, ya damn well best give it to get it. Ohhh no Im not meaning you personally if your reading this and getting all upset, Ive had some leaders I respected and would follow into battle any day of the week, others id just as soon lose the moment we went boots on the ground and others id just as soon call their leaving a bird in mid flight an accident.

SGT Michael Glenn - No offense taken. Trust me I respect all that deserve to be respected, regardless of rank, position or title (civilian sector).

I thought Obama was a political neophyte. I thought Bill Clinton was a draft dodger and I thought Jimmy Carter was ineffective and weak. Nonetheless - they were all elected President - my personal feelings aside - and were Commander-in-Chief. My Oath of Enlistment, Commissioning and as a GS-15 said that I swore to Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States. My personal feelings for whomever was Commander-in-Chief was not germane to my fulfilling my oath.

Why would anyone even ask this question? Of course he doesn't like Trump. He doesn't like him because made bold statements that his purpose was to undo everything Obama has attempted to accomplish, and he was elected on that promise.

Again, I am a day late and a dollar short....Exactly what I was thinking. Good thing I read the comments first, no duplicate answers.
