Facts are facts and not everyone can handle the truth

This is the interesting part. With all the accusations of fake news, biased news and conspiracy theories we are in an interesting position where people don't agree with what the facts are. Not in how to deal with the facts, but disagreement on the actual reality of the world we live in. That makes it really difficult to understand the other person's perspective and have rational discussion on the best course of action.

I'm not really sure how we correct that.

Yep.
That right there is what we would call a grim predicament.

I'm watching the trials of of some people who lied using alternative facts

Turns out there are laws, like criminal laws, against lying and calling it news. And undermining the trust of the public in their government. And aiding and abetting and inciting insurrection.

Who knew?

Stay tuned...

I don't get it. There is nothing in the story to support the headline and the video, while humorous and entertaining, doesn't help either. The simple truth is that humans have always resisted new information that conflicts with established "knowledge". Take, for example, the simple fact that everyone thinks they're a good driver, that they know how to avoid accidents. Yet, accidents occur. And when you attempt to show them a better way of driving, they refuse to accept the fact that they even need such information. Even after having an accident, they process the experience substituting facts to fit their preconceived notion. This is why two people who slammed into each other at an intersection will swear on a stack of Bibles that each had the green light. The person who ran the red light will have gone through a process that sounds something like this: "I ran a red light? How could I be so dumb. I couldn't have run a red light, could I? I must not have run a red light. I would never do such a thing. No, I didn't run a red light. That other driver, the idiot, ran a red light!" Good luck getting past that resistance.

I agree. Having said that it is meant to be tongue in cheek and not a serious article.. :)
