Is Shell Oil Company a Military Friendly Employer?

Proud to announce that Shell Oil Company has been named a Gold-level Military Friendly Employer Award recipient for 2017 by Victory Media, the publisher of GI Jobs. Employers were asked to complete a survey and were ranked in the following six categories:

• Hiring and Onboarding
• Opportunity and Advancement
• Culture and Commitment
• Support and Retention
• Policies and Compliance
• Recruiting and Sourcing

Award thresholds were set by the leading organizations in each category. Award levels established are:

• Top 10 Gold – A ranked list of the Top 10 in a category based on a numerical score
• Gold Medal – Employers scoring within 20% of the last-ranked (10th) organization
• Silver Medal - Employers scoring within 30% of the last-ranked (10th) organization
• Bronze Medal - Employers scoring within 40% of the last-ranked (10th) organization
• Military Friendly – Employers that have met or exceeded benchmarks for recruitment, retention, advancement, support and job placement of veterans
• Eligible – Employers that have participated in the ranking process

Over 1,200 employers participated in the ranking process. Shell is the only major oil & gas company to receive Military Friendly Award level recognition (Gold Medal), (Chevron received an eligible ranking).

Shell receiving this recognition speaks to the strong collaboration that exists with internal stakeholders and team members, our Military D & I network MILNET, our external stakeholders such as the Rallypoint platform and our servicemembers that are engaging on the platform, partner Universities and transition Office Ambassadors.
