MSgt Michael Bischoff - While Snopes may have been reliable at one time, their credibility has been questioned on several accounts recently.

LTC (Join to see) - IS there any fctual reson to doubrt snopes on this one or rather doubt SNOPES sources? Or any credible source that says the The Clintiopns are chargin the SS

YOU made the assertion can you back it up? If you cannot you are just spreading flimsy propaganda for some reason.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - my distrust for Snopes is general. I don't have any source readily available or personal knowledge for that matter. I need to do some digging.

LTC (Join to see) - Digging in a slopes articles easy, they provide a list of their sources at the bottom. Many people question Snopes credibility, the real question is: is the questioning based on reality on not simply liking what Snopes says.

Silly. A 757 couldn't accommodate his ego now (nor all the communications gear, etc)

Actually a 757 (aka US Air Force C-32) is currently the back up plane while one of the two 747's is in the maintenance depot. So I know a 757 can handle presidential communications.

The original post is talking about moving everything into Trump's plane. Not using what Boeing has created from the start (which is not the same 757). Retrofitting Trump's plane would not save money. You can't just move the gear over. Its not that easy.

I'm sure you understand that it could not be done. AF-1 has some of the most advance communications gear in the world specifically designed into the 747. You can't just "move" it into Trump's plane.

Yes you can move it onto Trumps plane. It will just take Boeing about 18-24 months to complete the mod.

At what price? You do realize the gear is gear specifically for the 747, which includes things like frequency management and deconfliction with the 757s similar yet very different design. I've been through the process to install a single new antenna on an AWACS platform for a new communications capability. It require months of testing alone to accomplish. We're talking about AF-1 here and the multitude of communications systems which cannot fail. Never mind the fact that Trump's plane is a civilian owned platform, thus making it unauthorized for use as the President's carrier and command and control platform.
