The unintended consequences of the liberal do-gooder ideology. The under-skilled low wage worker is now on the government dole and beholden to the government; tributary slavery. And now, that "welfare recipient" will do anything the government asks to continue getting that "free money" except learn a valuable skill that could have gotten him a better paying job; incentive gone, liberals have a built in mechanism for a vote.

I agree that people have to be able to live, the basics in Maslow's hierarchy of needs; but what I am seeing/hearing is not a desire for basic needs, but the WANT for more better without having skills/education to warrant more/better.

Minimum wage jobs were meant to be entry level jobs... not lifetime careers.

Wow - a liberal policy that fails. Heads up to those getting laid off - the market dictates labor wage much like price, demand and a bunch of other stuff. What's next some law to force people to buy overpriced products due to wage increases?
