I did this with blue potatoes I bought at Trader Joe's. I have harvested them a few times and they are sooo tasty.

I am most fond of the purple sweet potatoes from Okinawa... and think they would grow really well in drums

I've grown potatoes in an old dryer drum, stacks of old tires, mounds of dirt on the ground and a box I could take off the boards from the bottom up. Best results was from the old dryer drum!
