Okay look! Some of y'all are killing me with your dementia!
Here's something that my nephew posted.
"This is just because I'm tired of us as Americans thinking we are better than the other side... With humility comes understanding, I would rather be humble and happy than sitting on a high horse watching the country divide...
Can we, on BOTH sides, commit to understanding over hate... Can we on both sides commit to respect over fear...
Violence, anger, hatred, and intolerance are all signs of a lack of communication and fear...
Understanding, conversation, love, happiness, tolerance, and RESPECT, are all signs of communication, prosperity and hope...
I think we can all agree we (Americans) are looking for hope right now; hope isn't going to look the same for everyone, but through conversation, and through understanding maybe we can all get on the same page...
The problem isn't one person, it isn't one party, it isn't one election, it isn't any of the things society points to so that we can cling on and further divide ourselves from eachother..
The problem is division amongst the people of America, the answer is unity against a common threat.. The threat is Division.
They tell you it's blacks, whites, gays, religion, terror, women, men, Chinese economics, capitalism, democracy, guns, etc... That's not the issue, the issue is that we are so divided we cannot talk about these policies and issues and because of that they turn into problems.
#BridgeTheGap... understand that anger, by definition and practice, is a feeling, not an answer... So instead of responding to anger with anger, maybe ask someone why they feel that way.
Instead of agreeing to disagree out of frustration, agree to disagree out of respect that you are unable to see through their eyes... This does not mean sit in a circle and sing to the stars, but this does mean taking an extra step to bring us closer together.
I'm tired, we all are."

Thanks for sharing. These things need to be said. People need a refresher and reminder of things from 8 years ago because some either never knew, have forgotten, or are in denial. All the division on both sides needs to stop for the good of us all. The hard cases and extremists on both sides will never change and that is nothing new. This election has fueled the fires of division in ways I've never seen in my lifetime so it will take awareness and an honest effort to bring folks back to reality. Our leaders must set the example if things are ever going to improve and time will tell. Already both sides are posturing and firing warning shots across the bow with potential appointments and statements on planned changes to policy and law. We can expect the leaders to impede change but if they truly try to impede these changes with no flexibility at all we will likely not see any progress and can expect 4 more years of stalemate. I'm trying to stay open-minded and open to change but I must draw the line when it comes to changes to our US Constitution. Assuming they are not going to do anything drastic or of the magnitude of abolishing entire programs or reinstating the draft, I remain open to negotiating change that is in the best interest of the Nation.
