I have a few friends who are trans and they are excited that they join the Military (one in particular went through ROTC with the Army). They want to serve their country and both of them are great people. If a person who is transgendered wants to serve, I have no objection to it. I'll treat them with the respect they deserve and when poo hits the fan on deployment, I can rely on them to help me accomplish the mission at hand.

I'm just worried about the safety of those who want to be recognized as the gender they associate.

Three cheers for them, they have backbone then those are capable of serving have.

I agree with you SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth but I'm just worried about those who have a "phobia" will make things a little hectic for them causing more things to go wrong than go right; you know what I mean?
