That was just too funny, he's lucky he didn't dropped for at least 50 pushups.

Maybe it's because I've been in the Army for so long......or that Drill Sergeants scare the hell out of me ever since Basic......but even I don't walk up to one and say "What's up?"

Even though I was not a Marine this took place at the Fort Worth Naval Reserve Center.Back in 1965 I was doing a little time at the local Reserve Unit .There were 2 Boatswains Mates a !st class and myself a 2nd class. So guess who got all the duty. I stood as Boatswains Mate of the watch for start of drill and finish of drill.
One evening we had a boot ensign standing as OOD. It was end of drill for the evening. All was progressing normally until an E 1 walked up to the OOD and states "Request permission to waltz across your patio daddy O"
Before I realized what I was doing I had the E1 by his jumper collar and up against the bulkhead and proceeded to chew him out while the OOD stood there with his mouth open.
The moral to this story is I did not have to attend meetings so I just called it a day. That was the last of my naval service.
