Capt Seid Waddell
COL Lee Flemming, no it doesn't, and that is troubling. I would have thought that when the Army was notified of the switch they would have both credited Mahar and charged Clouse to correct the record. Mahar probably could have been charged as well for his part in the deception.
I am reminded of an accident on a desert dirt road in Arizona in which two pickup trucks came around a blind bend in four-wheel drifts, each on the wrong side of the road. When they saw one another they tried to correct but collided in the center.
When the Sheriff came out to the scene he talked to each driver separately, and then together. He pushed his Stetson back on his head and said "Well boys, the way I see it is that you was both wrong. If you'd both stayed wrong, you'd have been right. But you both tried to get right again, so you're both wrong".
Words of wisdom from a County Sheriff.
