Soldier battling PTSD reported he wanted to hurt his commanders. They disciplined him.

To me, that should have been a sign that he needed help, not discipline.

Wow, and they wonder why Service Members (All Branches) are afraid to seek help. Makes you wonder if having the thought and seeking help from the Psychologist were charged as communicating a Threat.....If so I would fight it. He went to the Hospital for help, he was telling what he was having thoughts of, but based on this it doesn't say that he actually planned the act. This is a bad example that the chain of command set. Then it makes you wonder, what was the Characterization of Service on the discharge. They may have set this Soldier up for losing all benefits. I see that a lot lately, especially with Soldiers that have approved MEB separation and orders, all of a sudden the CoC decides to Chapter for silly shit.
