It is important to note that none of these cases would have been prevented by Voter ID laws. It is also important to note that we already have laws in place to prevent this kind of fraud, and they seem to be working. None of these cases would have been enough to sway a local election, let alone a federal election.

Actually in Virginia, it is precisely because of the voter ID laws which were enacted in Virginia several years ago that the two Virginia voting registration fraud attempters were caught SGT Edward Wilcox.
Up until 2009 when I manned the polls it was difficult to stop the fraudulent voters from voting. Since then it has become more challenging for them - especially in absentee balloting.
Where I live up until 2009 we had people voting in a couple different states, voting in different jurisdictions in this state and voting for other people before the ID laws were updated. Fortunately the deceased voters are usually screened from voting.

LTC Stephen F. - No, you are misunderstanding the article, if you even read it. The 2 cases in Virginia were for submitting fraudulent registration forms. If they had not been found, no amount of voter ID laws would have prevented them from voting as the non-existent people.

SGT Edward Wilcox - I live in the area and I am familiar with much more than what is in the article. The article does not mention names or which candidate was being fraudulently supported.
Since the debacle of the 2008 election in Virginia where significant fraud occurred, the voting registration and election laws were updated to the 21st century which has made it much easier to catch fraudulent registration of the dead, convicted felons, people claiming to live where they don't, and misspelling of names, etc.

Sounds like the worst one was the Florida working marking the portions of the ballots left blank with a mayoral vote.
